California
The main varieties that we commercialize are:
Chandler
High production variety with a thin, oval, light-coloured shell that is tightly sealed but easy to open. It has a good-sized kernel. The most widely grown variety.
Hartley
A medium-production variety with a characteristic triangular shape. Usually sold in shell.
Howard
High production variety with a rounded shape and good-sized, light-coloured, high-quality kernel.
Serr
Early harvested but viable variety with a thin shall and light-coloured, very high quality kernel. It has one of the highest kernel percentages (56%).
Spain
BAIN owns 495 walnut hectares located in Badajoz and Guadix (Granada).
Pizarro
High production variety with a thin, oval, dark-coloured shell that is tightly sealed but easy to open. It has a good-sized kernel.
