Responsible agriculture and food, progress and development

The Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2021-2022 of Borges Agricultural & Industral Nuts is now available,  which explains not only what is being done, but also where we want to go in terms of sustainability in the coming years.

In the report, the company explains about the actions that have been carried out this last year in terms of sustainability, commitment to workers and improvements in environmental and energy management, among others.

Among the outstanding projects that mark BAIN’s growth strategy is the increase in the number of farms already certified with the international  standard  of good agricultural practices (Global GAP) reaching 80% of certified hectares and  the commitment to renewable energies, both in the agricultural and industrial phase.

In terms of resource efficiency, Borges Agricultural & Industrial Nuts has aligned itself with technology and innovation to apply process improvements, as well as has continued to apply measures to make more efficient use of fertilizers in the agricultural phase.

Some achievements are also explained, such as the 15% reduction in CO2 emissions in  its operations since 2017 and objectives for next year, such as obtaining the Zero Waste certificate in the main production center.

All this, aligned with the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, developed with the results of the dialogue with its stakeholders and based on 3 major areas of work: Responsible Agriculture, Committed People and Healthy and Sustainable Products. Through these three pillars, we work with different lines to achieve a single objective, to offer a healthy diet, contributing to sustainable development and creating shared value for all stakeholders.
